Education & Qualifications

Introduction

For past 15 years I have worked in the Print, Media and localisation industry. My carear started in a large Print media company as an apprentice Originator, I then moved into the localization industry were I worked on Print and Online Multimedia/Web sites.

The Beginning

During my four year apprenticship I studied print from the perspective of the pre-press department were I learnt about Imposition, Print Technology, Pre-fligthing of files, Desktop Publishging and Multimeida/Web, these studies were carried out both on the job and during block relesase when I attended Bolton Street Collage. It was during the last two years of the apprenticeship when I got introduced to Web Development when I was asked to create a website for Gateway Computers European headquarters.

Localisation Industry

The Clients origional files, the Clients choice of applicaiton and the Clients choice of media and final product is generaly the theme when working in the localisation industry, thus it is vital that if you are to supply a complete service you must have the ability to work on a wide range of applications and media. During my time in the localisation industry I worked on projects in many different languages and on many different applications ranging from Word, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark to disecting and rebuilding Websites and SWF files using HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash.

Web & Multimedia

Over the last decade my skill base has changed and broadened from Print to Web and Multimedia using applicaitons such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Photoshop and using languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript, I have also used Joomla CMS to create Dynamic Websites.
